Sefico Nexia supports the sailing challenge of Yvan BOURGNON
Yvan BOURGNON is preparing to take up an unprecedented challenge: the very first crossing of the North West Passage on a catamaran without motor or assistance.
The Swiss skipper will sail solo over 7500 kms from NOME (Alaska) to INGSUGTUSOK (Greenland), without cockpit, heading sailing only with the sun and the stars and moving forward by the force of the wind alone.
Beyond the unprecedented sporting and human challenge, the BIMEDIA challenge also aims at raising public awareness on the effects of global warming and witness the presence of multiple wastes in our oceans ; an issue that has been spreading worldwide.
Yvan Bourgnon has created an association “THE SEA CLEANERS” dedicated to the fight against ocean pollution.
This association has built a revolutionary ship called “LE MANTA”, to collect plastic wastes.
